Landscaping Shrubs

Landscaping shrubs, when they are roses, are the best looking and hardest working plants in the landscape.

Rose breeders apply the term "Landscape Rose" to their hardiest line of roses. They come in all shapes and sizes and are designed to survive and thrive in home, city, and office landscapes.

Most roses that bear the label "landscape" are actually shrubs. "Shrub roses" are a recognized formal category. Modern landscape shrubs are generally bred to be disease resistant and bloom throughout the growing seasons.

In order to make sure you get a rose that has these features, look for award winners or those roses that have an award winning parent. If you are familiar with a trusted local rose nursery, you can also ask them to direct you to the top landscape roses that will perform outstandingly in your area.

A good example of a wildly popular and loved landscape rose is the Knock Out rose.
