Create a Bouquet

Less Is More

create a bouquet, make a bouquet, pink rose bouquet

If you want to create a bouquet that is simple, minimalist, and yet stunning, Less is More is the one for you.

Items needed:

  • Two clusters/stems of miniature dark pink roses
  • A few leafless twigs: Any twigs will do -- the ones in this picture are from my garden. Just make sure they are curved appropriately, as shown in these pictures. The artistic curves lend grace and structure to this arrangement.
  • Some largish green leaves
  • A large flat container
  • A large flower holder
  • Some plush dark colored fabric (optional)

Procedure:

Place the flower holder in your large flat dish/vase. I have found that a regular pyrex dish from your kitchen works well. Insert a few twigs at one end, so that they are curving inwards.create a bouquet, make a bouquet

You may have to place these twigs kind of horizontally, from the first end of the flower holder, such that the twigs finally look like they are curving up from the second end of the flower holder. Now your frame is complete.

Now it's time to put your stars in -- your miniature pink roses. Add one cluster near each twig set. See the picture to the right here.create a bouquet, make a bouquet

Believe it or not, you are almost done -- I was not kidding when I said this is a simple arrangement! Now cover the flower holder with your largish green leaves. As always, don't forget to water the arrangement. Finally, drape your plush dark colored fabric around the container to cover the container and any part of the flower holder that is still visible. Voila -- the Less is More arrangement is ready to make a statement!

As an aside, the use of fabrics with bouquets and arrangements can enhance them dramatically. Also, simply varying the fabric you use can change the overall appearance of the arrangement itself.
